A ringing noise in ones ear can become deeply irritating in some point that it can affect the quality of life. If you are one of those millions of people around the world that have complained of a ringing in my ear, then it is best that you try to learn the several possible causes of tinnitus in the simplest lingo.
The condition is common among middle aged and the elder generation. However there are some reported cases of teens complaining of a “
ringing in my ear”. In order for you to have an idea on what could possibly caused your ear ringing, here is a list that you might want to check-out:
· Exposure to loud noise – Although it is a common cause for
tinnitus, not so many people are aware of the actual harm that loud noise and music can do to their ears. In fact, people still continue to play their music using headphones and with volumes turned to max! Even just frequenting a rock concert and standing next to a loud speaker can damage your ears.
· Side effects of medicines – while you may need to take some medicines to relieve you of your tinnitus, you have to be extra careful of some medicines that you may take as there are some of them that give an
ototoxic side effect, which only worsens your tinnitus.
· Stress – have you been doing too much lately? If you already have a mild ringing in the ears and you have been too busy and exhausted making you feel a little bit stressed, you may begin noticing your ear ringing as slowly getting louder too.
· Meniere’s Disease – this is a condition that is often characterized by episodes of vertigo, a feeling of aural fullness, progressive hearing loss and a ringing in the ears. The ringing in the ears becomes a result of constant attacks of vertigo. There are anti vertigo drugs that need to be taken to manage the frequency of attacks and hopefully control the progress of hearing loss which can lead to a ringing in the ears.
Whatever the cause of your ringing in the ears may be, it is still necessary that you see your physician or a specialist just to make sure no serious health problem is involved. You may talk to your physician and explain to them how the “ringing in my ear” started and what the other symptoms that you have observed are.
